Surah ash-Shams ayah 9
Qad aflaha man zakkaha
Indeed he succeeds who purifies himself
The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah:
The key to success is the righteous deeds. This is the purification of oneself. It is also said, "Indeed who purifies himself shall achieve success, and who remembers the name of his Lord and prays" (Surah al-Aala ayat 14-15)

This verse may also be translated to read, "He is successful whom He has purified it (nafs).
