Surah al-Qadr ayah 2
Wa maa adraka maa layaltu'l-qadr
And what will convey to you what the Night of Decree is?
The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah:
It is like the saying of the Prophet, "A night spent in preparing for jihad is better than a thousand nights spent otherwise." (Ahmad). Another tradition said, "One who proceeds for the Friday prayer with good intention and in good condition is credited with the reward of one full year's good deeds." Thus the thousand months mentioned in the verse mean the months that do not contain the night of decree
