Surah al-Bayyinah ayah 1
Lam yakuni alladhina kafaru min ahli'l-kitabi w'al-mushrikina munfakkina hatta ta'tiya hum al-bayyinah
The rejectors from the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not going to leave off (what they were doing) until clear proof came to them
The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah:
The People of the Scripture means the Jews and the Christians while the word mushrikun includes idol worshippers and fire worshippers from among the Arabs and the non-Arabs. The verse says that these people would not abandon their disbelief until clear evidence came to them
