The expression "striking sparks of fire" has been interpreted in various ways. Some say that it means the sparks coming out of the hooves when they strike the rocky surface of the earth. Another view is that it means the raging of the fire of battle. Another interpretation is war tactics. Still another opinion is that it refers to lighting fire by the riders after returning to their camps or by the pilgrims after their arriving in Muzdalifah after sunset. I prefer the view that it refers to the horses galloping in the cause of Allah
