Ramadan, Day 23

Quran 39:21:

Do you not see that God sends down rain from the sky and sends it through springs in the earth then causes to grow from it produce of various colors. Then it withers and you will see it turn yellow. Then He causes it to crumble away. Surely in that is a reminder to those who understand.

Here, the Quran alludes to the cycle of life in nature. Not spoken in this verse, but mentioned in many others, is that the next spring, the plants and fruit blossom and grow again. This is often used as a metaphor for the resurrection at the end of time and the new life in the Hereafter. I like this verse for expressing the metaphor in a particularly vivid way.
