I'm doing some volunteer office work for the City of Covington. Covington is an small incorporated area near where I live. I'm working in the Planning and Public Works Department, mostly doing filing and other related tasks. So far, my work has involved filing documents related to land use and capital improvement projects. The former is basically any type of construction, whether single family residence or commercial and the later is improvements to roads, schools, and other public facilities. It's interesting to see who is building in the area. For instance, a new Wal-Mart is in the planning stages. A lot of paperwork deals with a car dealership that is under construction.
