Kucinich Joins Effort To Keep Ford Plant Open
Congressman Tours Avon Lake Plant

POSTED: 6:27 pm EST December 5, 2005

AVON LAKE, Ohio -- At the end of the month, the Lorain Ford plant will close, and many of the workers will move to the Avon Lake plant.

The workers at Avon Lake may have dodged the bullet when it comes to their jobs, but they are not resting easy.

The workers have enlisted the help of Rep. Dennis Kucinich to help them keep the plant open, and invited the congressman to visit the plant Monday.

"We know we can't lose another plant and we're not going to let that happen. That's why we're all together today and that's why it's important to see this plant," said Kucinich.

Workers say they've done what they can to help keep Ford productive but need government assistance on health care and trade laws.
