Brief Meeting with Howard Dean, Followup Planned

Kucinich shared this account on his website:

I saw Howard Dean earlier today and we talked briefly about my letter to him. I hope to meet with him soon to discuss it at length. I then went to the floor of the house to give another speech challenging the war. The speech will appear here tomorrow after it is published in the Congressional Record. It is about the necessity of Democrats taking the lead to get the US out of Iraq.

Immediately after my floor speech on Iraq I met with Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari Maathai and members of the Kenya Caucus to discuss issues affecting health, social and economic justice in Africa. I also spoke to Ms. Maathai about the proposal to create a cabinet-level Department of Peace. Congressman Gregory Meeks (D-NY) sponsored the meeting. Also present was Congressman Donald Payne (D-NJ), together with Leonard Ngaithe, the Kenyan Ambassador to the United States.
