Kucinich: Sad Milestone In Iraq

1,000 Brave US Soldiers Have Given Ultimate Sacrifice in Iraq War and Occupation

Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH), Ranking Member of the House Government Reform Subcommittee on National Security, Emerging Threats and International Relations and a leading critic of the war in Iraq, issued the following statement on reports that 1,000 soldiers have died in Iraq:

“Today is a sad day for our nation, and a sad milestone in Iraq. Now, the families of over 1,000 United States service men and women must deal with the greatest lost any of us can experience. As of today, over 1,000 of America’s bravest have given the ultimate sacrifice for the war in Iraq.

“It is far past time that we, as a nation, re-evaluate what we are doing in Iraq. The course this Administration has sent our nation upon is unsustainable. With over $200 billion spent and over 1,000 lives lost, we can no longer afford this Administration’s policies towards Iraq.”
