Kucinich on Jobs (Kucinich for Congress)

From the Kucinich for Congress issues page on jobs:

Leaders Working Together to Save and to Create Jobs

With millions of Americans out of work, the time has come for a massive public works program which can tap the productive capacity of America, putting America back to work rebuilding our roads, our bridges, water systems, sewer systems and public buildings, including schools.

Congressman Kucinich, together with Congressman Steve LaTourette, has introduced legislation to create a great public works program. The legislation derives from the spirit of the old WPA, the Franklin D. Roosevelt jobs program which helped America move toward economic recovery seventy years ago. Each and every able-bodied person in America who wants to work should be given an opportunity for productive employment. The Kucinich-LaTourette bill is an important step in that direction.

Kucinich and LaTourette, who is a Republican from Ohio, also worked together to help save America's steel industry. They cooperated in an effort which was instrumental in helping to save thousands of good-paying jobs at ISG Steel in Cleveland and the coke plant in Warren, Ohio. ISG is now a prime national player in the steel industry. LaTourette and Kucinich also worked together to pressure the administration to maintain Section 2001 steel tariff relief.

This type of bipartisan cooperation has paid off for workers in Ohio and across the United States.
