Kucinich on Education (Kucinich for Congress)

From the Kucinich for Congress issues page on education:

Leadership on Education

One of the greatest educational challenges in America is the lack of access to affordabile, quality prekindergarten programs. When a working mother is single, or both parents are pressed to work, day care becomes an urgent matter. Yet the cost of such programs sometimes exceeds the cost of a college education.

Congressman Kucinich has introduced legislation to establish universal prekindergarten for America's children. His legislation will create early education programs for children ages 3 and over. Children would learn early reading skills and social skills, and have access to arts and music programs which would greatly enhance their learning abilities. This will help close achievement gaps which sometimes exist at the earliest grades and will enable each child to get off go a good start, regardless of family income.

Congressman Kucinich has been a leader in advocating increased funding for education at all levels, including a proposal for free college at all public colleges and universities.
