Democratic Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, the Party's most vocal critic of the war in Iraq, will issue a statement tonight following President Bush's 8:30 p.m. (EDT) news conference.

"What Americans want to hear from the President tonight is how soon he plans to bring our troops home," said Kucinich, an Ohio Congressman and co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. "What the people of Iraq and the rest of the world want to hear is an exit strategy for the United States that will all be positive and constructive for Iraq. I don't think either question will be answered."

Kucinich, the only Democratic candidate from the once 10-person field who actually voted against the Iraq war authorization resolution in 2002, is also expected to call on the leadership of the Democratic Party to support the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq. Sen. John Kerry, the Party's presumptive nominee, supported the war resolution.

Kucinich, who has been campaigning in Oregon for the past few days, will be in Coos Bay tonight, a coastal city near Eugene.
