Rachel Corrie

A year ago today, non-violent activist Rachel Corrie was killed by an Israeli bulldozer while protesting the demolition of a Palestinian home. Today, Dennis Kucinich has posted a page on his website in her memory.

He says:

"Rachel's life and her memory should remind us of the vast potential of the human heart to seek peace - no matter what the challenges, no matter what the cost. On this day, when we remember her sacrifice, we should also celebrate her courage, her strength, and her commitment to the principles that we cherish. Her family and friends are in our hearts and in our prayers."

The page also informs us that a senior campaign representative will be speaking at a memorial vigil for Rachel:

Charles Lenchner, Kucinich for President National Movements Coordinator, will speak today (March 16, 2004) in Washington D.C. at a Rachel Corrie memorial vigil on behalf of the Refuser Movement, comprised of Israelis who have been imprisoned for refusing to serve in the West Bank and Gaza.
