Kucinich not dropping out

Originally published in WBAY

Columbus, Ohio-AP -- Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich is not dropping out of the Democratic presidential race.

Kucinich didn't win a single one of the 30 state contests, including the ten on Super Tuesday. He's collected just 18 delegates, compared to more than 11-hundred amassed by John Kerry. Still, Kucinich tells The Associated Press he wants to force a debate within the party on such issues as Iraq, health care and trade. And he says that debate will occur only if he stays in the race.

It's not clear how Kucinich plans to get his message out, but he is due to get federal matching funds this week.

Kucinich picked up only seven percent of the vote [ed. note: final tally is 9%] in Tuesday's presidential contest in his home state, but he did win renomination to run again for Congress.
