Kucinich delays visit

Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, who was scheduled to visit Kenai on Friday, postponed the trip due to medical problems, according to a Kenai campaign representative.
Kucinich reportedly was hospitalized last week with stomach trouble while campaigning in Alabama, and was not released from a Cleveland hospital until Wednesday.
He plans to speak on a KSRM Radio talk show telephonically from Ohio from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday.
The congressman has tentatively rescheduled his Alaska visit to next week, stopping in Kenai on Wednesday, according to Kenai attorney Joe Skrha, who is helping on the Democrat's campaign in Alaska. The time and place have not been set.
Kucinich also plans to visit Anchorage, Juneau and Fairbanks while in the state.
The visit originally was slated for this Friday, the day before the Kenai Democratic Caucus.
Democrats in House District 34, which includes the central Kenai Peninsula, will be caucusing at the PACE Workers Hall, Mile 15.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Peninsula Democrats in District 35, which includes the Homer and Seward areas, will conduct their caucus at noon March 20 in Homer.
Registered Democrats will be allowed to vote for candidates and on campaign issues at the caucuses, according to Bridget Gallagher, Anchorage spokesperson for the Alaska Democrat Party.
On-site registration will be available at the caucuses, she said.
