With Super Tuesday in the history books and more than a dozen primaries and caucuses ahead, the campaign of Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich today renewed its commitment to press forward and to focus on issues that "the Democratic Party must honestly address" through the remainder of the campaign season.

In a letter to supporters and contributors, Campaign General Manager Dorothy (Dot) J. Maver wrote, "Congressman Kucinich has emerged as the voice of the progressive movement in the political debate. His campaign will continue to secure delegates on the way to the convention where, with our ongoing support, he will continue to be that voice."

Referencing all of the public attention on Sen. John Kerry's victories in numerous Democratic Presidential primaries, the letter went on to say, "we all must remember that in order to be influential and win the election, the Democratic Party must honestly address issues such as single payer universal health care, jobs, trade, education, the war in Iraq, the need for a Department of Peace.

"Thus, we will focus on the upcoming primary/caucus states, purchase media time, operate a national campaign, and, with your help, make certain that the human values at the heart of this campaign/movement will be at the center of politics in our country," Maver wrote. "We are now looking ahead to the remaining states and the Democratic convention in Boston in July, 2004. We must focus on states where Dennis can gain delegates, so that we go to the convention from a position of strength."

The letter also included a request for supporters for additional contributions. "To move forward in our journey it is absolutely critical that we keep raising money," she wrote. "Please invest in our future--in our children's and our grandchildren's future--by contributing right now on the website (www.kucinich.us) or calling with a contribution (866.413.3664)."

"This is a moment of historic choice in our campaign," Maver said in the letter being mailed and emailed to an estimated 90,000 individuals and organizations throughout the country, "a moment where the decisions we make will have effects that ripple forward through generations, decisions that will profoundly affect our lives as individuals, our relationships with other organizations, the future direction of our country, and indeed the future course of the world."

She told supporters, "Together, all of us will ensure that Dennis Kucinich continues to be heard and that the voice of the progressive movement in our country will be part of the transformation of politics and our world."

Maver concluded, "We look forward to the possibilities that will emerge as we each play our part in this unfolding evolution of the Democratic Party˜and more universally, the human spirit."
