DNC continues to diss everybody but their chosen candidate

From a Washington Post report:

It will be a parade of Democratic stars in town on Thursday for the Democratic National Committee's "Unity Dinner," designed to celebrate the party's determination to bury intramural differences and rally behind Kerry.

Former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, who have had their differences over the years, will be on hand for the dinner at the National Building Museum -- as well as at an after-hours party at the nightclub Dream.

Also present for the dinner will be all of this year's Democratic presidential candidates, minus one. Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (Ohio) was not invited, a DNC official said, because he is still campaigning and not preaching party unity.

Kucinich has made it clear that he accepts that Kerry is the presumptive nominee and that he will support Kerry when Kerry is the nominee. He says that he is staying in the race to raise issues that Kerry doesn't and to appeal to constituencies that Kerry can't. Exactly how is this contrary to party unity?

But this is only minor compared to the way that the DNC has dissed every candidate but Kerry; they drove Clark, then Dean, and finally Edwards out by telling all the media that they should withdraw from the race. They never even gave Kucinich and Sharpton a chance.

There are a hell of a lot of people who will never forgive the DNC for the way they acted during this presidential race.
