Kucinich filed this report from the campaign trail in Tennessee

Transcript of Audio Postcard from Dennis:
Afternoon of 2/11/04

Hi everyone, Dennis here.

Well, there's been a lot of excitement around the country after we finished third in both Maine and in Washington state. And I can tell you that people are now starting to take another look at our campaign because they realize that we have the ability not only to finish in the money, but that we have the ability to change the whole debate.

The debate is needed so much now on Iraq. All the other candidates would like not to talk about it, and yet as we have 130,000 troops there who could be there for years and years, we understand our obligation to keep that issue in the forefront. The same goes for not-for-profit health care and with cancelling NAFTA and the WTO, starting a whole new debate on what we can do to keep jobs in this country.

So we are right at the beginning, still, at the beginning, of a campaign which is emerging into awareness among people across the country, and you are an important part of it. I am so excited at the developments over the last few days, but we have so much more work to do. I'm talking to you right now from the airport in Nashville, Tennessee, where I just ended up meeting with a large group of supporters and they're getting out to vote today for the elections. Yesterday, I was in Virginia, flew into Roanoke, and had a rally where 700 people showed up.

We have a lot of support, we just have to keep on energizing it and creating the momentum that results in us being able to gather delegates. As you know, ultimately what the race ends up being about as far as the Presidency is the ability to gather delegates, and we are making every effort to get ready for the elections upcoming and for Super Tuesday where we will make a major effort to be able to put together a block of delegates that will put us in contention at the convention in Boston.

It still remains to be seen how this election will turn out - a month ago, everyone thought they knew who the winner was going to be, today everyone thinks they know who the winner's going to be, but it's a different person. And I think that as we keep up our efforts that we will be that winner by the time we get to Boston. So I'm asking you to continue to keep organizing, to continue to keep fundraising for us, to continue to keep showing the kind of dynamic courage, the quality of heart, which each and every one of you who have supported this campaign along the way have demonstrated.

So I will talk to you - in the background I'm hearing a "Dogs for Dennis" campaign, there's barking going on...but anyhow, here we are, direct from Nashville Airport in Nashville, Tennessee, this is Dennis, signing off. I'm on my way to Atlanta right now to meet some more supporters. We're campaigning in every state we can reach and we're going to continue doing it.
Thank you, keep this thing going, and I'll look forward to talking with you very soon... it might be sooner than you think! bye!
