Kucinich on Ballot in Illinois, D.C.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 7, 2004

Democratic Presidential Candidate Dennis Kucinich's campaign placed his name on the ballot for the Illinois primary today and has now filed for participation in the primaries and caucuses in 35 states and territories, including the District of Columbia caucuses, for which the Kucinich campaign also filed today. The campaign has not missed a single filing deadline and expects to be on every ballot.

The state of Illinois requires 3,000 - 5,000 signatures to place a name on the primary ballot. The Kucinich campaign collected over 10,000 and submitted the maximum allowable 5,000. This morning was the deadline for participation in the lottery for ballot position in Illinois. Campaigns that have not yet filed can file up until the 14th but will not be part of that lottery. Kucinich for President is one of only two campaigns that have filed delegate slates in Illinois.

The Kucinich campaign in Washington D.C. is doing phone banking, dropping literature at doors, preparing recorded phone calls from a surprising individual to be announced Monday, and has planned a series of events this Friday through Saturday.
