Kucinich advocates universal health care

Originally published by KAIT

Tulsa, Oklahoma-AP -- Dennis Kucinich (koo-SIN'-ich) is promoting universal health care as he continues his long-shot bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

During a stop in Oklahoma yesterday, he proposed the elimination of H-M-O's and private insurers and replacing the current health-care system with national coverage. He says money for the current system would mostly pay for his plan.

Kucinich is also challenging White House claims that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. President Bush used that as the main reason to go to war. Kucinich thinks the war will become a bigger issue as the presidential race continues.

The Ohio congressman plans to stay in the presidential race, despite getting only one percent of the votes in Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.
