Kucinich in second place with California Democratic activists

The California Democratic Council announced the results of its straw poll on various races. Among these results:

PRESIDENTIAL STRAW POLL
(no endorsement given - 60 percent required)

Governor Howard Dean - 56.11 percent
Congressman Dennis Kucinich - 17.19 percent
General Wesley Clark - 14.48 percent
no other candidate received more than 6 percent

This looks similar to Washington state, with Dean in the clear lead and with Kucinich in a group of candidates who will probably make the 15% threshold to get delegates. In Washington, Kucinich is with Clark and Kerry, but Kerry doesn't seem to be doing too well in California.

What happened to those other "front-running" candidates? They're all behind Kucinich? What kind of front-runner is that?
