December 29, 2003


Democratic Presidential Candidate Dennis Kucinich has planned various events in Austin, Texas, January 2nd and 3rd, including:

A fundraising concert at the Austin Music Hall with Kucinich Endorsers Willie Nelson, Tim Reynolds, Michelle Shocked, and the Doobie Brothers' Pat Simmons, along with Jim Hightower, Bonnie Raitt, Tish Hinojosa, and Michael McDonald. Following the show there will be an artist's reception at La Zona Rosa, 4th St. and Rio Grande.

LIVE WEBCAST: The concert will be webcast live at www.kucinich.us and will include live interviews throughout from Kucinich and from celebrity supporters in the audience.

A reception and dinner at Austin's beautiful Barr Mansion & Artisan Ballroom, with special guests Mimi Kennedy, James Cromwell, Tim Reynolds, Michelle Shocked, and The Doobie Brothers' Pat Simmons, along with entertainment by Tish Hinojosa and Libby Kirkpatrick.

Additional activities include a volunteer breakfast, a Peace Rally, a televised youth forum, and a press conference. The schedule is as follows. All times are Central Time.

January 2, 2004
2:15 - 3:15 p.m.
Delivery of signed application to be on Texas Democratic Primary ballot
Location: Democratic Party HQ, 701 Rio Grande (corner of W. 7th and Rio Grande)

6:30 p.m.
Event: Reception at Barr Mansion
Location: 10463 Sprinkle Rd. (Directions from IH35: Take Hwy 290 east toward Houston. After passing over Hwy 183, at the 2nd stoplight, take a left. Follow the road for a couple of miles until it dead ends. Take a left. The Mansion is immediately on the left.)

7:30 p.m.
Dinner at Barr Mansion's Artisan Ballroom
Location: Just behind Barr Mansion
Entertainment: Musicians Tish Hinojosa & Libby Kirkpatrick
Dennis Kucinich will speak at 8:15 p.m.
