HOST A NEW YEAR'S EVE HOUSE PARTY
Contact houseparty@kucinich.us to notify us of your house party. Why is this New Year's Eve unlike any other New Year's Eve? Because this year you can be talking directly to the next President of the United States! Dennis John Kucinich will call your house party if you are one of the first seven people in your time zone (including Hawaii) to confirm a party that will bring in $2,500 or more to this historic campaign! With hearts, minds, and checkbooks, together we ARE creating the kind of world we want to pass on to our children! Confirm your place on Dennis' personal call list ASAP!
WATCH NEW YEAR'S EVE STREAMING VIDEO
On New Year's Eve, Dennis Kucinich will participate in an event in Cleveland Public Square in Cleveland, Ohio, and then in a New Year's Eve fundraising party at the campaign headquarters. We will webcast video live from headquarters as we count down from 10 p.m. to 12 midnight Eastern Time. Dennis will join the rest of the staff in answering phones as supporters call in to contribute funds before the fourth quarter of the year closes. Supporters who want to make the trip to Cleveland are invited to the party at headquarters. Everyone else should call up to contribute and possibly talk to Dennis.
IT'S MONEY TIME
You contributed $1.7 million to this campaign during the third quarter of this year. So far in the fourth quarter you've given $1.5 million. The money is needed now more than ever, and we need to top the third-quarter number by tomorrow night in order to continue to expand. No need to wait till tomorrow. Contribute now !
NEW YEAR'S DAY OF PEACE
The United Nations invited the world to celebrate One Day In Peace, January 1, 2000, as the beginning of the International Decade for the Culture of Peace & Nonviolence for the Children of the World. 1000 organizations in almost 140 nations participated in this launch for a better world... Over 100 governments, 25 U.S. governors and hundreds of mayors pledged their support. On December 15, 2000, a joint Resolution (S. Con. Res. 138) was unanimously adopted by the House and Senate declaring every January 1 as a day of peace and sharing. This Resolution was presented to Congress by Dennis Kucinich and the late Senator Paul Wellstone.
WILLIE NELSON'S NEW SONG
Willie Nelson, who has endorsed Dennis Kucinich for President, and who will lead a fundraising concert for Kucinich's campaign in Austin, Texas, on Jan. 3, 2004, wrote a new song on Christmas that he will perform in public for the first time at the Austin concert. The lyrics have not been released before now:
What Ever Happened To Peace On Earth
There's so many things going on in the world
Babies dying
Mothers crying
How much oil is one human life worth
And what ever happened to peace on earth
We believe everything that they tell us
They're gonna' kill us
So we gotta' kill them first
But I remember a commandment
Thou shall not kill
How much is that soldier's life worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth
(Bridge)
And the bewildered herd is still believing
Everything we’ve been told from our birth
Hell they won't lie to me
Not on my own damn TV
But how much is a liars word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth
So I guess it's just
Do unto others before they do it to you
Let’s just kill em' all and let God sort em' out
Is this what God wants us to do
(Repeat Bridge)
And the bewildered herd is still believing
Everything we’ve been told from our birth
Hell they won’t lie to me
Not on my own damn TV
But how much is a liars word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth
Now you probably won’t hear this on your radio
Probably not on your local TV
But if there's a time, and if you're ever so inclined
You can always hear it from me
How much is one picker's word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth
But don't confuse caring for weakness
You can’t put that label on me
The truth is my weapon of mass protection
And I believe truth sets you free
(Bridge)
And the bewildered herd is still believing
Everything we've been told from our birth
Hell they won't lie to me
Not on my own damn TV
But how much is a liars word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth
