King County Democrats Honors Banquet

Immediately following the Seattle rally, Kucinich attended the King County Democrats Honors Banquet, where he was the keynote speaker. Here's a report from the King County Democrats, sent out in their weekly email alert:

KCDCC Honors Banquet a Huge Success!

Last Friday night at the Seattle Hilton the room was packed with an enthusiastic crowd for the KCDCC Honors Banquet. Senator Patty Murray was our honored elected official and gave an impassioned speech. Congressman Jim McDermott was given a Patriot award which was accepted by his wife Terese Hanson. Congratulations go out to Gurine Nordby as Female Democrat of the Year, Scott White as Male Democrat of the Year, and Susan Sheary as the Chair of the Year. We were also thrilled to have all three Democratic candidates for Governor as part of our program. Our keynote speaker, Dennis Kucinich, was amazing. He brought the house to their feet more than once. The room obviously was filled with supporters, but more importantly allot of new faces to the Party. It will be our goal as a Party to keep these new faces involved not only next year, but in the years to come. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success!

The King County Democrats were also running a presidential preference poll. The results are here. Currently Kucinich is in third place, just a sliver behind Wesley Clark and ahead of John Kerry. All three of them trail Howard Dean badly, no surprise, but none of the other candidates got above 2% of the vote. The threshold for delegates is 15%. That is within easy reaching distance for Dean (45%), Clark (14%), Kucinich (13%), and Kerry (11%), if this poll is any indication.
