Following the campaign, November 18
From Karin Caifa:
MORE ENDORSEMENTS
More eclectic endorsements to add to the list supporting the Kucinich camp, including PBS host and ecologist “Farmer Dave” Blume and the Northwest Ohio Green Party. Just days before a Manhattan fund-raiser, the campaign also unveiled a list of “prominent” New York activists and politicians backing Kucinich.
RUNNING MAN
Kucinich is involved in two races — one for the presidency and the other for re-election to his House seat in Ohio’s 10th Congressional District. So he’s been careful not to neglect his duties on Capitol Hill, even if it means losing a week of precious presidential stumping to be present for Hill votes. He’s been present for all but 8 percent of votes this session. After all, he’s asking the folks in his congressional district to trust him enough to vote for him twice. Kucinich said no to Tuesday’s AARP forum in Bedford, N.H., to be present for votes (interestingly enough, this leaves the entire “bottom tier” — Kucinich, Sharpton and Moseley Braun — out of the Bedford forum, something some pundits and campaign strategists have been clamoring for) and is arranging to be present at America’s Youth Forum in Manchester, N.H., by teleconference if necessary. Last week, he took advantage of House GOP leadership scrapping votes and did a campaign blitz through Iowa, a trip he would not have made if the House had been in session. One has to wonder if a candidate who suffers from an obstacle like low-name recognition can really spare that time off the trail. Asked if the candidate would be taking a few days off of the frantic pace for next week’s Thanksgiving holiday, his campaign scheduler replied, “That’s a joke, right?”
