From Karin Caifa:
LOOKING FOR LOVE
Two women have now joined the PoliticsNH.com contest to find Dennis Kucinich a first lady. The first contestant, 33-year-old Gina Marie, is a sheriff’s aide in New Jersey. “As a pro-choice Democrat, I’m committed to the ideals of our party to work for safe schools for our children, a time when law enforcement is better armed than criminals, gun-free neighborhoods, affordable health care for all, federal penalties for those who refuse to pay their child support and respectful treatment of the veterans that fought to ensure our freedoms,” she wrote. Sounds pretty in line with the bachelor himself. The second, 52-year-old Kathy of New York City, already has a plan for a working relationship with the candidate. “I would very much like to meet Dennis Kucinich to discuss some ideas I have for an Internet system to facilitate all the persons who are trying to take America back to peace and prosperity that would require a small technical team and political support of someone like Dennis,” she wrote, “These ideas would apply to Dennis Kucinich’s proposed peace department which is a great idea!” The “Who Wants to Be a First Lady?” contest was launched on the Web last week in response to Kucinich’s comments at the Planned Parenthood forum in Manchester. Kucinich, who is divorced, replied to a question about the role of a first lady in his White House: “As a bachelor I get to fantasize about my first lady.” He then went on to describe the qualities he’d seek in his first lady: She’d have to be for full employment, universal health care, advocate a department of peace. “So if you’re out there, call me!” he said to the roar of the audience. “I think this is the first presidential personals ad,” commented John Kerry. The winner, picked by the readers, will be flown to New Hampshire to have dinner with Kucinich, as long as the congressman agrees.
