Dockworkers union endorses Kucinich
Pierce County dockworkers have endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, the Ohio congressman who is sharply critical of elements in U.S. foreign trade agreements.

The endorsement was by Local 23 of the International Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union in Fife, said Vance Lelli, president of the Pierce County Central Labor Council. He said labor activists plan to pressure the ILWU international leaders to take the same stance, arguing that fair trade is more important than free trade because it can encourage two-way exchanges of goods between countries.
