Statement of Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich On David Kay's Congressional Testimony

Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH), leader of the opposition to the war against Iraq in the House, issued the following statement on David Kay's report to Congress:

"David Kay's inability to find any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq only proves that this Administration launched a war based on falsehoods and lies. Clearly, Iraq's weapons did not pose an imminent threat to our nation and military action was not necessary to disarm Iraq.

"Now, the United States has occupied an unstable country where our soldiers are in harms way, squandered all international sympathy, fostered increased terrorist attacks in the region, and have handed away billions and billions of American taxpayer dollars."
