Presidential hopefuls: Democrats come to Washington

U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio spoke at a union rally last night in Fife, one night after fellow Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean made his pitch at the University of Washington.

Kucinich delivered the keynote address at a rally of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union's Local 23 in Tacoma, looking back at the Longshore lockout of October 2002 and the Taft-Hartley injunction that reopened 29 major ports.

The rally also launched the America in Solidarity campaign in support of "labor-friendly politicians."

Dean spoke at the UW for the Warren G. Magnuson Awards ceremony and announced the formation of his Washington state steering committee.

Co-chairing the panel are former Gov. Booth Gardner and former Democratic State Chairwoman Karen Marchioro.
