Kucinich To Administration: Turkish Troops In Iraq Could Be Catastrophic

Will Only Add Fuel To The Fire

Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH), leader of the opposition to the war against Iraq in the House, issued the following statement on recent press accounts that Turkish troops will soon occupy Iraq:

"The Administration's plan to deploy Turkish troops for the occupation of Iraq could be a serious mistake, adding fuel to the fire.

"The planned introduction of Turkish troops will inflame ethnic tensions in Iraq, which could provoke a civil war and cause a longer more costly US occupation.

"The Bush foreign policy in Iraq is inept and is making the world a more dangerous place."
