(Albuquerque-AP) -- Congressman Dennis Kucinich says his Democratic presidential campaign is one of creating peace and economic prosperity, because they go hand in hand.

The Ohio Democrat made his comments in Albuquerque Tuesday as part of a multi-state tour to make formal his eight-month campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.

He participated in the first televised debate among Democratic candidates last month in Albuquerque.

Kucinich formally launched his bid for the White House Monday in his hometown of Cleveland before starting a three-day tour around the country.

His campaign has stressed his opposition to the U.S.-led war against Iraq and his call for American troops to return home.

He also has emphasized his desire to end the North American Free Trade Agreement and his support for a single-payer, universal health care system.
