Following the campaign, October 9
From Karin Caifa:
C-SPAN APPEARANCE
Kucinich held court for half an hour on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” Wednesday morning, fielding questions on everything from Iraq to his health-care plan. Asked if he’s in this race for the long haul, despite miniscule poll numbers and a small fund-raising total, Kucinich said, “Absolutely. My operation continues to grow,” noting that the comparatively small campaign coffers grew this past quarter.
MORE KUCINICH ON IRAQ
More from Kucinich on Iraq, this time responding to reports that the White House is calling on Turkish troops to aid the U.S. in Iraq. “The Administration’s decision to deploy Turkish troops for the occupation of Iraq could be a serious mistake, adding fuel to the fire. The planned introduction of Turkish troops will inflame ethnic tensions in Iraq, which could provoke a civil war and cause a longer, more costly U.S. occupation. The Bush foreign policy in Iraq is inept and is making the world a more dangerous place.”
DEBATE PREVIEW
Kucinich flew to Phoenix Wednesday night to get rested and revved up for Thursday’s debate and activities with Arizona supporters. He loves these forums and has told me they are “the key to my candidacy.” Now that Bob Graham has departed the race, look for Kucinich to tout that he was not only the leader of the House Democrats railing against the war in Iraq, but now remains the only member of the field who voted against the Congressional resolution to authorize force there.
