Long shots do win!

Maybe you've heard of the book and movie about Seabiscuit. Seabiscuit was a rather homely-looking horse that everybody had given up on. Yet he went on to win a match race against the Triple Crown winner, a horse named War Admiral.

It's one of the classic stories: the underdog who surges to victory, the long-shot who pulls off the great win, the Cinderella. The story's been told so many times in so many ways because it has the power to reach something inside us and because it reminds us of some truths about the human experience. That a good heart and a courageous spirit are a truer measure of character than good looks. That popularity isn't always a reliable indicator of quality. That there's something special about a person who has to work hard and overcome obstacles on the path to success. And that sometimes you've got to take that crazy chance on what you believe in, no matter what anyone else says.

Maybe you've heard the conventional wisdom about Dennis Kucinich. He's not telegenic. He "can't win". Maybe you're not even going to give him a chance.

Maybe you should take a second look. Spend the time to learn about this man, what he stands for, and what he's accomplished. And maybe you'll decide that this is a long shot who can win.
