KUCINICH TOURS PROGRESSIVE NORTHWEST
This weekend, Congressman Kucinich will make his first presidential campaign swing through Washington (Seattle and Bainbridge) and Oregon (Portland and Eugene). From previous trips to the Northwest -- including his 1999 participation in the World Trade Organization protests in Seattle -- we know he has a big following. If you're not in Washington/Oregon, alert your Northwest friends about their chance to meet Dennis: http://www.kucinich.us/schedule.htm
NAACP CONVENTION AND JOHN CONYERS
Yesterday morning, Dennis appeared at the NAACP convention in Miami, and spoke on peace, social justice and his effort to establish a cabinet-level Department of Peace. Due to a Medicare vote on Capitol Hill, he was not able to take part in the NAACP candidates' forum on Monday. Responding to those who'd criticized Kucinich for missing Monday's forum was Rep. John Conyers Jr., dean of the Congressional Black Caucus and a lifelong NAACP member. In a statement sent to mass media, including African American-oriented media, Conyers called Kucinich "one of the most exciting candidates seeking the Democratic presidential nomination" and referred to his "exemplary record when dealing with issues facing the African American community."
BASEBALL FANS OF THE WORLD UNITE!
On the day of the All Star game, Congressman Kucinich introduced a creative piece of legislation: "The Baseball Fan Protection Act." The Kucinich proposal, co-sponsored by several members of Congress, would amend a tax break given to team owners in 1967 in an effort to increase the availability of games to over-the-air TV broadcast stations. In some cities, only cable TV viewers have access to the games. Peace, justice, sustainability...and baseball.
INTELLIGENCE AGENTS UNITE!
Coverage has gone worldwide on the Capitol Hill briefing organized Tuesday by Rep. Kucinich, featuring two former intelligence officials who question the evidence used by the Bush Administration in its rush to war in Iraq. One official recently quit his senior job in Australia's top intelligence agency to protest, as he explained at the Kucinich forum, the "systematic misuse of intelligence" and "twisting of truth" that led to the war.
ENDORSMENTS KEEP ROLLING IN
Our campaign is only five months old but endorsements keep rolling in. Ten days ago we posted the Feminists for Kucinich statement and already more than 1,600 people have signed it. Another recent Kucinich endorser is David Korten, author of "When Corporations Rule the World," who calls Dennis "one of the most dedicated, honest, and visionary leaders ever to come onto the U.S. political scene." Korten will introduce Dennis Saturday night in Bainbridge, WA.

ARE YOU A CELEBRITY? You may have seen in the press that our campaign received donations from many well-known artists, including Bonnie Raitt, Ben Affleck, Edward Norton and Jeff Bridges. You don't have to be a celebrity to give to our campaign. In fact, our campaign has surged in the last 4 weeks thanks almost entirely to small Internet donations, average gift $77. Many of the artists can't give us any more because they've contributed the maximum allowed by law. Please donate at https://kucinich.us/contribute.php
MSNBC'S CHRIS MATTHEWS will not be spreading the word about the Kucinich campaign. He's too busy shouting over our candidate and mischaracterizing his positions. So please forward this email to friends and loved ones.
