Nearing the end
As-salaamu alaykum all,
Now that Kucinich has endorsed Kerry, his presidential campaign is officially at an end. For those of us who are planning to vote Democratic in November, inshallah, it's time in our actions to become "Muslims for Kerry". I'll be one of them, because while I disagree profoundly with Kerry on many issues I believe that the benefit will be greater and the harm less by electing him than by electing Bush, and a vote for Nader is a vote for Bush, in my view. Until we switch to IRV voting or some other more fair system, that's going to be true.
However, I am still committed to the message that Dennis Kucinich has brought and to the movement he has built. Inshallah, I plan to keep this website alive and may occasionally post to it if Kucinich continues to be in the news. I hope that it can serve as a resource for anybody who may be interested in keeping updated with what Kucinich is doing.
I knew going in that this is where I'd be when it came to the convention. I've been surprised and disappointed by how the Democratic party establishment and especially the media marginalized the Kucinich campaign. I don't think Dennis was ever given a fair shot and I'm not going to forget that for a long time. But I don't regret a minute of time that I've given to this campaign or a dollar that I donated to it. Without Dennis, I'd've been in this position many months ago, instead he gave me (and I hope all of you) something to keep hope alive, that there are candidates who really do care about people and about making this world a better place.
Thank you, Dennis Kucinich.
W'as-salaam alaykum
