show who's linking to you

There are a wide variety of ways to list referrers to your blog pages. I'm using a referrals script from Phil Ringnalda. The instructions are written specifically for showing referrers to individual entry archive pages of MT blogs.

Another interesting feature is that it emails you a notification every time there's a new referrer. This isn't for everybody. Thanks mostly to hits from search engines, I get a one to two hundred notifications a day. But it does help me see who's linking to me and more generally how people get to my blog. If you're obsesssed with your site stats and referrer logs, you might like it.

The way the script is written, the email address is set as a variable but I could not get it to work this way. I had to hand-code my email address in the script. I don't know why.

This isn't for everybody but if you're obsessed with referrals, you might want to give it a try.
