help visitors from search engines find what they're looking for

The MTRefSearch script looks at the keywords that search engine visitors used to find your site and runs a search of your archives to find any other entries that match those keywords.

To see this in action, run this Google search then follow the first link "Al-Muhajabah's Islamic Blogs: The Niqabi Paralegal?" You'll see the results of the MTRefSearch script at the top of the page.

In order to run MTRefSearch, you need to be using a MySQL database as your backend and be able to run PHP on the pages where you want to include the script.

For some reason, the option to highlight the search terms as they appear on the page has never worked for me.

Note: I subsequently removed this because the index of entries that MTRefSearch uses was really slowing down my rebuilds. However, it's a neat trick if you have a fast server.
