killing comment spam, part 2
Note: If you have hacks applied to your comments and trackback modules, you will need to apply these to the Blacklist modules. See the MT-Blacklist documentation for instructions.
MT-Blacklist is here. It's a breeze to get it up and running. Upload a few files, configure it, and load the blacklist. You're good to go.
If a comment is submitted that contains a URL on the blacklist, the commentor will end up at the Comment Submission Error screen, with an error message that the comment could not be submitted due to questionable content.
If the URL is not on the blacklist but upon reading it, you decide that you want to block comments using that URL, there is a link in the notification email that takes you into MT-Blacklist where you can select what URLs you wish to block and add them to your blacklist while deleting the comment.
This also works against trackback spam.
Note: My blacklist is here if you want to import it for your own use.
