when you love, sometimes you have to criticize

I've said before (1, 2, 3) that just as when you see someone you love doing something wrong you should speak up, so when you love your country and you see it doing something wrong, you should speak up.

In that spirit, go read More things we throw away by Hilzoy. Read the whole thing.
