Muslims condemn Berg beheading

Date: May 16, 2004 | 26 Rabi al-Awwal 1425 Hijriah
Subjects: condemn, terrorism
This is something I meant to post about several days ago but it fell through the cracks during my "blogging crisis". This is a selection of Muslim responses to the Berg beheading video, taken from two mailing lists I belong to, one of which is CAIR. Obviously, this is not a complete list; I haven't made the efforts for a thorough search. But it should be enough to give you a taste.

No, Muslims are not silent. Never have been. Only those deafened by the roar of their own bigotry can't hear.

CAIR Condemns Murder of American in Iraq (May 11, 2004)

Council of Islamic Organizations of Chicago Condemns Berg Murder (May 13, 2004)

Wisconsin Muslims Horrified by Berg Murder (May 16, 2004)

New Jersey Muslims Denounce Beheading (May 13, 2004)

North Carolina Muslims Condemn Berg Killing (May 13, 2004)

Ohio Muslims Condemn Beheading (May 16, 2004)

Arizona Muslims Rally to Condemn Terror and Abuse (May 13, 2004)

Muslim Scholars Denounce Berg's Beheading (May 12, 2004)

Iraqis Condemn Berg Beheading (May 12, 2004)

I also found links to two stories that are registration-required: Texas Muslims Denounce Berg's Beheading and U.S. Islamic Leaders Call on Faithful to Denounce Terrorism.

P.S. Comments are not enabled on this entry. I don't have the patience to deal with Islamophobic trolls today.

Added: Here are a couple more:

Beheading of American condemned in S. Florida mosques

Muslims Condemn Execution

CAIR has also established an online petition, Not In the Name of Islam, for those of us ordinary Muslims who don't have media access but would like to make our voices heard.
