Subject: not censorship
Disallowing hate filled attacks is certainly not censorship, and you don't need to be on the defensive either. It is entirely within your rights (and common practice amongst most blogs with large readership) to disallow comments that are posted by trolls whose sole purpose is to villify and instigate. You keep up the good work!Subject: Enough
Sorry to hear that things have been getting you down. All the negative comments must be very depressing, but please notethat there are those of us out her who share your views and wish to support you in putting over an accurate picture of Islam. I for one
very much appreciate your site and your blogs - so your efforts do have a very positive effect on some non-Muslims. Peace and good wishes.
David
You must be getting at a raw nerve with the trolls and hate peddlers.
Since they can't argue, with the truth, they prefer to smear lies and let their frustration out on you. (they even try to use Arabic sounding names to twist the truth)
I commend you on your eloquence, balance, and sticking with presenting your arguments despite the continuous harrasment you are under.
You are informing and contributing very positively, to muslims and non-muslims alike.
We are all human beings after all, despite what the fear traders would like us to believe.
Keep up the good work!
I really appreciate your website and FAQs/articles and what you have done up to this point. May Allah reward you for your patience and bring the ease after the hardship and rough stuff. Asalamu alaykum wa rahmattallah,
John
PS: I'm not using that old yahoo email anymore, I'm just trying not to circulate the new one too much, when unecessary
Subject: Keep Up the Good Work
Keep up the good, don't let these people ruin a good site like this.Subject: Enough
Assalaam Alaikum, I just wanted to send you a little note letting you know that I appreciate your site and the time you must spend. Thank you!Glad you're here!
Peace.
Subject: thank you!
Thank you to everybody who posted such wonderful, supportive comments! I was really feeling down two days ago but I feel much happier now.Subject: Kucinich
Did you see the NY Times article about Kucinich? (http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/17/politics/campaign/17kucinich.html)I thought that you might be interested.
I never thought I'd say it, but you got it harder than Black folks, and it's not right because you're not the one that started that s**t.
Subject: Re: enough
Thanks for dropping by, bro. Yeah, I know you hear me loud and clear. I keep hoping that one of these years, we humans will move on to a better level than this, but I'm not holding my breath waiting.Subject: Enough
Thanks for the compliment....Can you start a blog on how Rumsfield should be fired for his policy of cruelty to prisoners? I never liked that man.....and he is the one who should be held responsible for the atrocities in the prisons in Iraq and also Afghanistan....I can say that the Sundance TV channel is playing some pretty moving and reality films about what affect the war is having on the citizens there, the only problem is they only show them at odd hours when the general public is sleeping. Your work on this site has been great.
Thank you for all your hard work.
Sincerely,
Mama
Subject: I get the same trouble
As-Salaamu 'alaikum, you really don't need to show me the nasty comments because I get enough of them on my blog. I know for a fact that the same abusive poster (Flanstein/Bimsalabim) has bothered me, Amir Brooks, Ginny Quick, Saraji, Niqaabi 4Ever and other Muslim bloggers. A few days ago I blogged about something totally unrelated to Islam and this moron posted an abusive anti-Islamic message. I check my blog quite often now and delete anything abusive or insulting.
