They've been talking about this in the media here the whole time they've been talking about the domestic ban. I think it was a partner project from the start. But don't get me started...just don't. Now where'd I leave that Prozac...Subject: Re: another nation trembles in fear of the mighty headscarf
What about nuns? Do they have to quit wearing the headcovering? This makes me think I will never go to Bavaria....ridiculous.....I do wish the fashion industry would do something and make wearing scarfs fasionable again and put them on all the "catwalks" to protest...some innovative designers in Paris and New York could pull it off. Wearing scarfs in America used to be common in the 1950's. It was "cool".Subject: Re: another nation trembles in fear of the mighty headscarf
While that is particularly crass and offensive, I see that France is now almost certainly going to ban the hijab, yarmulke and large crosses from its public schools. I think this is a fundamentally wrong-headed, illiberal curtailment of the right to worship. I'm just writing a large rant about this in my livejournal ( which is here). I would like to link to your site; if you would prefer I didn't, please email me and I will remove the link at once.
