Check out Black Box Notes, a new blog devoted to all issues affecting the integrity of our vote. If you like the Black Box Voting site, this blog should suit your fancy. Seriously, this is an important issue for everybody, no matter their political beliefs.

Thanks for your link to Black Box Notes. It is indeed an important issue, and though I am quite partisan, this issue is not. Vote tampering has been almost a hobby in this country since it's founding, and probably will be for a long time to come. My focus at Black Box Notes is simply this: Don't computerize ballot stuffing. It's a big enough problem as it is without adding computer power to it.

I'll be following this issue using my background as a systems developer with 40 years of experience in the field. (Yeah. I started when they still used vacuum tubes.) There are a lot of good sites out there on this subject, and if you are interested in it, by all means, visit them all. But I want Black Box Notes to be a "value added" site. I want it to frame the issue in the terms of my unique skill set.

To this end, I'll be speaking in terms of not only of the current problem set, but also how these problems come into being in a computer development environment, and what types of solutions can be effective in resolving these problems.

At times, I suspect that my writings there will border on technical, because after all, it is a technical problem. But I will always strive to make these technicals accessable to the everyday user. Your continued visits will tell me how good I am doing at that.
