Sick of people who murder to advance their cause

Date: November 15, 2003 | 20 Ramadan 1424 Hijriah
Subjects: condemn, terrorism
The people who did this ought to take heed:

The Quran says "Whoever kills a single human being unjustly is as though he had killed all of humankind" (Surah al-Ma'ida ayah 32). Deliberate murder of another person will put you in Hell forever. Imagine the punishment for those who have killed dozens. Whoever has committed this atrocity will have God's wrath upon them. They should remember that any victory they might gain in the world that was not by means that God has allowed will be made void by God on Judgment Day, and that is no victory at all but the ultimate loss. The only way to gain true victory is to obey the limits that God has set.
And, yes, I have said this before, many times, as have others.

Tell to 'em straight, as you always do. How is it that those who champion God have become so savage and irrrespective of life?

As-Salaam Alaikum,

Let me second that sister. Whether it was religion, politics or both this was a cruel and despicable act.

One of the beauties of Islam is the emphasis on enjoining the good and forbidding the evil. I think there was even a hadith that the Muslims would never succeed unless they enjoined the good and forbade the evil.

I'm not going to pretend I have great religion or adab - you know I don't - nevertheless it still holds true that Muslims will be on the bottom so long as we don't improve ourselves spiritually.

It's so easy to go on about the kuffar and hate everybody. Is that good manners? Is that deep religion? Or does it make Islam and the Muslims look like a stupid cult? Allah will never change our condition unless we change that which is in our own hearts.

As salaamu 'alaykum,

I agree that these types of seemingly indiscriminate killing are of course forbidden by God and must be condemned by all believers.

We should always be careful in our statements and should not pretend to wield authority we do not have.

We do not have the right or the knowledge to say that whoever did this is in hell forever or will have the wrath of God upon them.

Tawbah is open to them, just as it is open to all of us who commit sins as long as we are alive. One is only subject to the punishment of Allaah, and Allaah can surely punish whomsoever He will and forgive whomsoever He will.

This does not in any way diminish the wrongness of the action or the importance of trying to prevent Muslims or anyone else from engaging in it.

I found this site by accident and was moved to speak. I have no formal religion but my own path to the Almighty and am a sincere believer. Someone made the most excellent of points - it is not up to us mere mortals to judge entire races for what is "believed" to be wrong. Right and wrong are subjective. Each persons perspective of right and wrong may differ. The Almighty, I assume would much prefer brotherly/sisterly love between peoples and religions over murder and the heinous crimes and attrocities permitted today in the name of the Lord. I pray for peace! I pray for enlightenment of the masses. I pray for mercy! I pray for all to be protected from prejudice! I pray that some day we may find a way to co-exist and not fear being tainted by those that choose a different path to the Lord. We all belong to the human race! We all live, breathe, hurt and cry! We are united as human beings on the planet Earth. Let our hearts, thoughts and prayers be joined for peace and tranquility. Much love and light to all!
