I've got another new post up at Open Source Politics. This one goes back to a topic that I addressed in my very first post to OSP, but this time with some good news for victims of domestic violence.

The post is about a decision handed down last week by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that deepens the law's understanding of what abusive relationships are like. Not all the abuse is physical.

As a side note, the Hernandez case was originally handled by the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, where I now work as a volunteer paralegal, and was argued on appeal by the Northwest Women's Law Center, where I did my paralegal internship this last summer. I didn't have anything to do with the case at either organization, but it's nice to know that I'm associated with two groups that are doing such great work.
