Subject: Re: to be a Muslim in the West
I beleive that your an American Muslim therefore America is your home country no matter your religion (If I'm wrong please correct me) However, being a Muslim in the West especially after 9/11 has been very hard on myself and has led me to a state of alienation and disillusionment.I grew up here and it has been straining on me emotionally living in America and supporting America with my tax dollars to go kill fellow Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan, and ignore the plight of the Muslim brothers in Palestine. Also being part of the economic hegemon that is instrumental in keeping most of the world in abject poverty is not something I'm proud of. I dont know, I think Muslims who support America arent looking out for the worldwide Islamic brotherhood.Being a Muslim in America is almost a contradiction not in the fact that you cant be a good Muslim while living in America on an individual level but the fact that we arent looking out for our brothers who are being killed and exploited by the country we live in and support. I feel like a kaffir.
I'm sorry. I dont know why I said all this to you, some blog out in cyberspace but I had to get it off my mind.
As Salaam Wa Laikum
