Airhead or not, she did get one thing right: CAIR is a fund-raising arm for terrorist gangs, as well as PR front for radical Islam in general.Subject: Re: this is just bizarre
This, from someone who thinks every type of Islam is radical Islam...Subject: Re: this is just bizarre
Yes, that's the claim making the rounds of all the right-wing sites. To the best of my knowledge, CAIR does not raise funds for any organization other than itself and the funds it raises are used for its operations. This is what most non-profit organizations do. I have been on the CAIR email list for four years. I have never been asked to donate any money to any organization other than CAIR.As for the "PR front" that is simply ludicrous. They present Islam to others as they understand it, the same as I do. Oh, wait... next, you'll say I'm also part of the PR front for radical Islam.
You know what. I'm sick of your bigotry and your insinuations. You are so obsessed with this idea that Muslims are out to conquer the world that when you see a Muslim speaking words of peace, you assume that it's some kind of false front, it can't be real. You have been reading this website for over a year and you yourself have even admitted that the version of Islam I present is OK, for a version of Islam (Al-Muhajabahism, I believe you called it). And yet you still seem to believe that it's all a lie. I would have to be a sociopath to be able to lie this long and this consistently. Is that how you see me?
Try to see Muslims as human beings like yourself, as individuals. There are good individuals and there are bad individuals, just as in any other group of people. There are saints and there are monsters, just as in any other group of people. There are people who strive to live up to the highest moral ideals, and people who twist the words of scripture to serve their own ends, just as in any other group of people.
When you come here, you don't seem to see me, you just see a projection of your own preconceived notions. That is very sad.

Th rspns, I mean, the response you gave is very indicative of the reasons why "moderate Islam" remains such a problematic notion in popular perception.CAIR -- not veiled4allah, but CAIR -- are self-described mujahedeen. That was my simple statement of fact. Your response -- directly mirroring that of CAIR to the criticism directed at it -- consists of apologetics, vitriol, straw men, victim-posturing and bromides.
Look, whatever "moderate Islam" is, CAIR ain't it. By allowing it to pose as such unchallenged -- and rushing to its ill-advised defense -- non-jihad-minded Muslims are doing themselves a tremendous disservice.
And as for your pop psychology ("projection... preconceived notions...": once again, I was talking about CAIR. I certainly have my opinion as to who and what Al-Muhajabah is, but I just value my vowels too much.
