now it can be told

Date: September 02, 2003 | 4 Rajab 1424 Hijriah

My three-day weekend wasn't much of a holiday at all. Ten hours Saturday, thirteen Sunday, and eighteen Monday, all spent on the mysterious top secret blogging project.

But now it is running live! I present to you: Open Source Politics

Eight blogs. 45 bloggers. National news stories and political commentary. International perspectives. Discussions of law, policy, and rights issues. Labor and economics. Environment and health. Education and IT. Culture, religion, and entertainment. All from a liberal point of view. Published on a daily basis with a dozen or two new posts each morning for your reading pleasure.

You can read a little about the background and mission of OSPolitics here and also discover what name I'm writing under, if you read it carefully. You may also want to check out my post on immigrant victims of domestic violence.

For this project, I installed MT, created and configured the central blog and eight section blogs, set up all the author accounts, did the programming for the table of contents on the main page, created a way of linking the templates together so that it's easy to update them all at once, and of course did a lot of checking to make sure everything works right. I also run the legal section so I had to get all the posts submitted, edited, and prepared for publication as well as behind-the-scenes work setting up our posting schedule. I think I actually got some sleep this weekend, but I'm not sure tongue

Enjoy!
