Muslim voices 6/22 to 6/28

Date: June 28, 2003 | 27 Rabi al-Akhir 1424 Hijriah
Subjects: muslim, blogs
It looks like the new upgrade of Blogger has finally fixed the permalinks problem for most blogs. It's about time! All of these links will take you directly to the blog entry in question.

More art history from Sadia Salam.

Abu Saleem (Abdullah) posts a prayer for his future wife. He is also planning to switch to MT, inshallah. Too cool!

Aizuddin Danian posts some thoughts about dying.

Bin Gregory posts his translation of the lyrics of a Malaysian nashid. Mashallah.

Yasmine posts an article about things to remember when you wake up each day. For some reason, sister Yasmine's name is being displayed as ??min? deathstare Is this a new Blogger bug?

Burhan posts a thought-provoking story about what we seek and what we find.

Nazim posts an article called Satan's Meeting about how we're always busy with "other things" and don't take the time for Allah.

Hajir (a new addition to my blogroll) has a thought-provoking post about love, jealousy, and attraction.

Zahra posts about a trip she took to Egypt awhile ago.

Jabir has a comment about Michael Jackson, multiculturalism and assimilation.

Sina (Linda) is learning how to teach autistic children.

The To Submit community discusses a Time magazine article about Christian missionaries in Muslim countries.

Umair Salam posts about the complexities of creation.

Chocoholic posts the graduation speech she gave, called "The American Dream: A Global Perspective". It's excellent! Go, read.

Maliha posts briefly about a spiritual retreat that she went on.

alt.muslim has some good stuff up including an article by Muqtedar Khan about Islamophobia among some segments of the evangelical Christian community, and some information and links about social services for the Muslim community.

Muslim Wake Up follows up on Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean.

Prof_sadin says, "Let's liberalise the West". Check it out.

Zack Ajmal has been posting about political unrest that occurred while he was in college.

Blogs that still do not have working permalinks for some reason.

Annie shares a lovely poem that she found (June 24).

Abez shares the lyrics of a nashid she liked (June 26).

DeOwl talks about the commonality she feels with devout people of all religions (June 28).

Concrete Girl posts a poem (June 23).

Kasheur posts some Islamic sayings (June 23).

Hafsa Ahsan posts to her articles blog about consequences of having faith (June 27).

Sufistic posts about the signs of good character (June 23).

I'd also like to mention a word in memory of two blogs that are no longer with us, Karen Hanson's A Portrait of the Artist as a Muslim Woman and Cindy's Blog. Both blogs have been deleted (Cindy's for a couple weeks but I was hoping she would come back sad ). Inshallah, both these sisters are doing well in their lives and I hope for my own benefit that they'll return to blogging when they're ready.

The fixed Blogger permalinks just made my day. =) As for my name...hmm, I don't know what's up with that. I think the new Blogger didn't feel like recognizing my special characters. lol. In any case, it's been fixed, and insha'Allah it'll stay put. =) Subhan'Allah, soo many awesome blog entries to check out. Jazak'Allah for posting these.
