Congrats & good luckSubject: Re: new adventures of the niqabi intern
That sounds awesome. Well, updating the database will be tedious (I had a friend who had a similar job), but the rest sounds very rewarding. My brother is a criminal justice major at Northeaster University (who'll be going to law school in a couple years), and he just completed a co-op with the state government's office for investigating employee discrimination...they offered him a full time job, because he did a really good job, and they're very backed up on claims - the waiting list is like 4 years long).

Hmm. Hit post before finishing what I was saying. He finds it to be pretty interesting, and, for him, there's no end in sight for stuff to work on.Subject: Re: new adventures of the niqabi intern
Wow! Congratulations and good luck. As an undergrad, I did an internship at a legal aid project like that. It can get overwhelming, but the good you do far outweighs (at least, in my mind) the stress that comes with the job. Best wishes! :-)Subject: Re: new adventures of the niqabi intern
Thanks, everybody! It reminds me a lot already of the non-profit agency I worked for from 12/00 to 5/02 (I was laid off last year because they lacked the money to pay my salary anymore). Lots of very dedicated people but very little money to help them with.
LauraJ - Yeah, they were really cool about it. I'm working in a room with four other people and there's literally no space there that isn't getting in anyone's way. So I asked my supervisor about it. She contacted the attorneys who have their own offices and got a response back from both of them. When I was working for the above-mentioned non-profit agency I offered salat in my supervisor's office while she was at lunch. Same reason: no space anywhere else.
Natasha - If you know any women who need help, don't hesitate to refer them to NWWLC. I've only been there two days but I can already see they're a great organization.
